Thank so much for sharing this! I've passed it on to 4 of my VSG friends.
How Big Was Your Bougie???
My tight 32 bougie is perfect...it made losing easy and maintaining even easier!
Pain?
Most of my pain was due to my hiatal hernia repair and less due to the surgery itself. I did get a "fragile" feeling in my stomach when my pain meds wore off during the first week. After that it was mostly back pain from the hernia repair.
Goal BMI?
My current BMI is 20.8, way lower then I had dreamed.  5"7" and 133 pounds
Food ideas for the Full Liquids or Purees Phase
Full liquid stage - I mostly ate tomato soup.. had potato soup once. I wasnt hungry so often, and the soup was so good and filled me up well.

Soft stage -  I mostly ate refired beans with cheese sauce. It was so good. I was surprised I didnt get burnt out, but its like I got a taste for it and thats what I craved.
Pre-op shopping

For myself, I stocked up on mostly protein choices - bullets, unflavored protein powder, Nectar Protein powder, and a chocolate protein powder. I also got some soups. Hunger Issuses
Twisted Evil
If.. Anyone has a Hunger issue.. There is nothing that says you cant eat.. Just be carefull in your selection ! Instead of cookies and candy.. Go for a few pieces of fresh fruit, or veggies.. even a small portion of nuts  works !!  This doesn't have to be torture !

What made you choose VSG?
I chose it because my main issue is hunger and it is more likely to cure that than a lap band or RnY. Weight loss is similar to RnY but complications are similar to lap band.

Finally, as a self-pay, the lack of long term complications is appealing.
How many polls have you filled out?
Okay, I've filled out everything I can at 1 month post-op.
